Modern Country Front Doors

March... Thank you for bringing sunny days with you.

With the arrival of Spring, I feel inspired to jump outdoors with my Modern Country Home series. For me, the sunshine has brought somewhat premature thoughts of giving my cottage a facelift, it has looked a little tired over Winter and finally, painting all the window and door frames. I have the colour chosen, all I need now are a few warmer days to complete the work.

The front of your house is the first thing anyone sees when they arrive, so extend the same love and attention to the outside of the house as you would the inside and let's not forget when summer finally arrives, you'll want to spend all your time in the garden and can reap the rewards.

*Tip. Painting your doors and windows can have a huge impact on the style and appearance of your home, for a low cost transformation.

Nordic House

Seeing as we've been talking about garden entertaining this weekend I thought it would be nice to share with you where you can purchase some of the beautiful garden accessories, rather than keep them all to myself!

My all time favourite, I have been buying these lanterns in all sizes for display in my garden!

We're going to start with a favourite of mine, Nordic House, an interiors boutique specialising in gifts and decor............ with a scandi twist! Fancy a little background into the company? Of course you do, I loved learning more abut this super fabulous company so I'll share. Based by the sea in Cornwall (sigh) with a female only warehouse (yes! women power) and run by a husband and wife team who fell in love with scandi styling after working in Sweden. Isn't it nice to now who your buying from?

Here's a round up of my favourites currently being sold and there's a summer sale on! Just click HERE and voila, the sale is at the end of your fingertips, literally. Happy shopping and keep an eye out for more shopping secrets!

Time to Share! Inspiration!

Images: Dream Box Interior Design

Sunday morning. Slowly awakening from my slumber, senses coming to life. The sun streaming through the window and the birds tweeting outside, it feels like spring is almost upon us. Deciding what to do for the day I suggest a morning walk in the country, trying to stay true to one of my New Years resolutions; Sunday morning walks. How are you getting on with your resolutions?

It was exactly what I needed. Following an extended time away from blogging, longer than I care to remember, it gave me the much needed boot to start again. I've missed writing, sharing inspiration but sometimes life gets in the way, with a crazy build up to Christmas and all the work on our house it felt good to take some time and quite simply it was too easy to fall into lazy patterns but now I need to re-focus and the walk on Sunday ignited my creativity. Blue skies, sunshine kissing and warming my cheeks, babbling rivers and not another noise apart from our heavy breath from walking (must get back in the gym this week too) - it reminded me what I love in life! Gave me some much needed perspective.

So here I am, no regrets for taking a break because I have been storing up lots of lovely inspiration for you! Hopefully some of these teasing images have given you ideas and you are as excited as I am for what is to come!

Pretty Little Garden

Today's weather forecast, overcast grey skies, slow-moving downpours developing, (scrap that, as I am typing, heavens opened) with hail and thunder possible but........ it's OK because it is Friday and I am thinking forward to those beautiful sunny days with long evenings filled with good food, wine and friends.

That said, I hope the sunny weather comes soon because I have some pretty plans for my garden this year, starting with my shed and I really want to get to work! Mother nature has tested my shed over the years, it is now a bruised and battered shade of brown so I going to paint it a pastel green, maybe blue, I am still deciding, with a pretty curtain and draped in my homemade bunting.

A new patio for dining with friends in those long, dusky evenings with some fairy lights adding a touch of magic is on the cards................ beautiful pots filled with flowers...........(I am going for low maintainance as I do not have alot of time for gardening and I would rather enjoy and relax)............ Our picket fence has also been through hard times, heavy wind, rain and snow so I am going to paint it white, a real white picket fence!

Roll on summer! *sun dance*

I hope these images provide some inspiration for what's to come and brighten your day.

Happy Friday.

91 Magazine - Issue 2

Have you too been eagerly awaiting issue 2 of 91 magazine?

Since receiving a sneak peak of the magazine I could not wait to read it from cover to cover and the good news is, issue 2 has been launched and it is utterly fabulous.

I managed to find some time with a cup of green tea (yes, still drinking it) this morning and indulge in designer heaven.

I love this teacup!
I wish I could drink tea and eat cake in a room with hanging chandeliers, don't you?
My favourite part of this room has the be the wall display with vintage mirrors and art. Stunning.

The 78 pages are filled to the brim with inspiration, ideas for the crafty types,  tours into designers homes, 2012 trends and so much more. I cannot wait to try some of the crafty Easter ideas and the vintage tea rooms are a highlight of the magazine for me, I especially adore 'vintage heaven'.

I will be trying my hand at those hanging eggs! And the flower display reminds me of my own kitchen table.
I love this work space! Such an inspiring place to be, wouldn't you agree.
But, don't take my word for it, take a look for yourselves here. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
